Sculpture Garden

Last Wednesday at Struthers Parkinson’s Center we created shapes to illustrate the language of dance.  We created curved, twisted, stretched and balanced shapes and turned our dance space into a sculpture garden. I am always amazed by the power of artistic collaboration – each body sculpture required the creative talents of every member of the team. There was no holding back…only intense concentration, engagement and fun!

Our friend and colleague, Anne Green Gilbert, has written several wonderful books on creative dance: Creative Dance for All Ages and Brain Compatible Dance Education.  Contact her at:

The mission of Kairos Dance Theatre is to transform and revitalize individuals and communities. We work with older adults in intergenerational settings to liberate the healing power of interactive dance and story. We achieve our mission by engaging the skills of professional teaching artists.
