hand in hand

There is something about holding someone’s hand when you dance with them. Maybe it’s feeling their warmth – or cold (I often get the response: your hands are so cold!) and if I’m lucky an elder will rub my hands until they are warmer or we rub each others hands. The best is when we dance together: a waltz or polka, or maybe a tap dance or chair “hoe-down.” What matters is that we reach for each others hands and begin to dance.
“swing your partner
right hand swing
and away we go! ”

The mission of Kairos Dance Theatre is to transform and revitalize individuals and communities. We work with older adults in intergenerational settings to liberate the healing power of interactive dance and story. We achieve our mission by engaging the skills of professional teaching artists.
