Good Fortune!

This is my first blog entry ever. I am amazed at my good fortune to be working with Dancing Heart. I am a puppeteer and have usually worked with children in art residencies. They have amazing energy and creative spark, those kids. But when I started working with elders, I was amazed at the same kind of sparking that happens as we create. There is often a time in every circle that the energy starts flying as we get carried away with the music and movement. It always helps to start moving elders in their wheelchairs across the circle. The other day we had a bull-fight with our lively intern, Hannah, in the center with a red cloth, and two elders with their arms raised as horns being incited by the red cloth!! I love seeing a man who often sits quietly on the circle grinning and engaged in the wild dance of the bull!  Margo

The mission of Kairos Dance Theatre is to transform and revitalize individuals and communities. We work with older adults in intergenerational settings to liberate the healing power of interactive dance and story. We achieve our mission by engaging the skills of professional teaching artists.
